For those of us involved in children's learning, it is very important to know the direction of school education.

The new curriculum guidelines have already been implemented, and the School Education Act stipulates the following:

"Article 30, paragraph 2 In the case of the preceding paragraph, in order to cultivate a foundation for lifelong learning, special attention must be paid to helping students acquire basic knowledge and skills, as well as to nurturing the ability to think, make decisions, express themselves, and other abilities necessary to use these knowledge to solve problems, and to foster an attitude of proactively engaging in learning."

The three important components of academic ability are:

  (1) Basic knowledge and skills

  (2) The ability to think, make decisions, express oneself, etc., necessary to solve problems by utilizing knowledge and skills

  (3) Taking an active approach to learning

is shown.

Not only the "amount of knowledge" but also the "ability to utilize knowledge" is important, and a new type of test is being introduced to measure such abilities.

Regarding the view of academic ability that will be required in the future, "The Power of Logic" (by Deguchi Akira, Suiosha Publishing) states the following:

To carve out your own future, you need the "reading comprehension" to find the right information and issues from the overwhelming amount of information available. You also need the "thinking ability" to think logically about solutions to those issues, and the "expression ability" to communicate those solutions to everyone so they can be understood. The foundation that supports these three abilities is "logic."

“The Power of Logic” (Written by Akira Deguchi, published by Suiosha)

Under the new curriculum guidelines, high school students will study criticism and literature, which have previously been treated as "modern Japanese," in two subjects: "Logical Japanese" and "Literary Japanese."

I want children to learn "logic" through training and use it as a weapon to pave the way for the future. Why not start training your children in "logic" this summer vacation?
