“The Village Repair Shop”
ある小さな町では、いろいろなものが壊れていました。
In a small town, many things were broken.
道路には穴が開き、街灯はつきません。村の人たちは移動するのに困っていました。
Roads had holes, and streetlights didn’t work. People had trouble traveling.
物を修理するのが大好きなリリーという女の子が考えました。「みんなで一緒に町を修理しよう！」
Lily loved fixing things. She thought, “Let’s repair the town together.”
リリーはともだちや近所の人たちにこのことを話して、みんなで空きビルに修理工場を作りました。
She told her friends and neighbors. They set up a repair shop in an empty building.
みんなは工具や材料を持ち寄りました。
Everyone brought tools and materials.
リリーたちは道路や電灯の修理を始めました。
Lily and her friends started fixing roads and lights.
町の人々はそれを見守り、手伝いました。
Townspeople watched and helped.
やがて道路はデコボコがなくなり、明るい電気がつくようになりました。みんなは安全に移動できるようになりました。
Soon, the roads were smooth, and the lights were bright. People could travel safely.
店が大きくなるにつれて、リリーたちはさらにたくさんのものを修理しました。
As the shop grew, they fixed more things.
ベンチを直し、建物にペンキを塗り、花を植えました。
They mended benches, painted buildings, and planted flowers.
町は美しくなり、手入れが行き届くようになりました。みんな幸せでじぶんたちがやったことを誇りに思いました。
The town became beautiful. People were happy and proud.
リリーも誇らしく思いました。自分のアイディアで町が良くなったのですから。
Lily felt proud too. Her idea had made the town better.
