SDGs Goal 4: Quality Education “Lucy’s Little Library”
ルーシーは、学校に行くことができないこどももいる、小さな村に住んでいました。
Lucy lived in a small village where not all children could go to school.
彼女は本を読むのが大好きで、たくさんの本を持っていました。
She loved to read and had many books.
「私の本をみんなと共有できないかな？」とルーシーは思いました。
Lucy thought, “Why not share my books with everyone?”
ルーシーは友達と一緒に、村の小さな部屋をそうじして、本でいっぱいにしました。
She and her friends cleaned a small room in the village and filled it with books.
みんなはそこを “ルーシーの図書館 “と呼ぶことにしました。
They called it “Lucy’s Library.”
図書館には毎日子供たちがやってきました。
Children came to the library every day.
ルーシーたちはこどもたちと一緒にお話を読んだり、新しい言葉を教えたりしました。
Lucy and her friends read stories with them and taught them new words.
ある日、一人の先生がルーシーの図書館に来て、こどもたちが勉強しているのを見てよろこびました。
One day, a teacher visited and was happy to see the children learning.
その先生は毎週そこで教えるようになりました。
He started teaching there every week.
ルーシーのおかげで、村のこどもたちはみんな本を読み、学ぶことを楽しむようになったのです。
Thanks to Lucy, all the children in the village now enjoy reading and learning.
