“Wind Power Wonder“

ウェンディの村は風の強い丘の上にありました。

Wendy’s village was on a windy hill.

多くの家は夜になると真っ暗になるので、ウェンディはそれを変えたいと思いました。

Many homes were dark at night. Wendy wanted to change that.

風が凧（たこ）を動かすのを見て、ウェンディは思いました。「風の力で私たちの家に明かりを灯すことができないかな？

She saw the wind move her kite. “Can wind light our homes?” she thought.

彼女は理科の先生に相談しました。先生は風車がどのように電気を作るかを説明してくれました。

She talked to her science teacher. He explained how windmills make electricity.

ウェンディはクラスメートと一緒に風車プロジェクトをはじめました。

Wendy and her classmates started a windmill project.

風車は動いたのです！おかげで風車とつながった家では、夜になると明かりが灯るようになりました。

The windmill worked! Now, those homes had light at night.

村の人たちは驚き、喜びました。

Villagers were amazed and happy.

もっと多くの村人が風車を欲しがりました。

More villagers wanted windmills.

やがて、たくさんの風車が村を照らすようになりました。

Soon, many windmills were lighting up the village.

ウェンディは自分たちがやったことを誇らしく思いました。

Wendy was proud.

ウェンディは風で明るく、暖かくできることを証明したのです。

Wendy was proud. She proved that wind could bring light and warmth.
